My friend, John, as usual, got me thinking about the topic of Men and their smiles, again. If I haven't blogged about it before I know that I posted about it on Facebook. I can not stand when Men take photographs, especially with their Woman, and they don't smile!!! Makes me mad to no end! Anyway, I've noticed that almost all the Men (for the sake of one I recently met) hardly ever smile. What gives, Gents? Is life that stressful that you can't smile? Are your smile muscles broken? Or are you just sticks in the mud until a pretty girl walks by? Yeah, oh yeah, I went there.
I will have you know, and yes, I'm talking to you all - that your smile, especially when a Woman walks in the room or you're talking to your Partner will either make or break our mood! Yes, YOU and your gorgeous faces that you're hiding behind your scowls and mean faces can destroy how we interact with the world for the remainder of the day. Sure, blame it on PMS, women just being women, or whatever it is that you men say about us, but understand this...I may not know about a lot of things, but relationships and Men are two things I do know.
I have been observing you ALL ever since we met...since the first moment of 'Hello' and I will tell you that every time I've seen you smile, it has changed my day - just imagine what it does for your Partner. I've known a Man for many, many years and I can tell you that I have never seen him smile around his Wife. He will smirk, but I have yet, to see him smile. Another Man, it took YEARS - decades even, for me to see his smile and again, it wasn't until we were actually alone together that I got to see his great face. I felt like I was seeing him for the first time.
I am fortunate enough to have been married to Men that smile, so I know that when a Man's smile goes away, it usually means that something is wrong - either wrong with him, us or a combination of both and Men, that's a very scary place for a Woman.
So, that's my advice for you Gents for today. Take a moment, think about your faces and remember why someone fell in love with you and I will bet you a Snickers bar that when you smiled most, that's when she fell for you hardest.
